A Berlin-based artist, Britta Lipka, has started a participation project to plant a mosaic 'tree of good neighborliness' in an urban public space. Don't be put off by the rhetoric of good intentions, I don't see why lots of people should not send pieces for the mosaic if they match Britta's design. It's not so much about neighbourliness as about widespread participation in prosocial symbols in the public realm, but why not? This project uses the internet and physical objects to involve potentially numerous contributors to public art. I look forward to seeing (evidence of) the results.
